who we are

JAHF assumes responsibility for managing the maintenance, restoration, renovation and construction of select Jewish buildings around the world. Our present focus is set on projects within Romania and Hungary. While much of the work entails the redesign of existing structures to suit a new program, the designs are implemented with sensitivity to the complex histories involved. It is for the continued memory of our brave ancestors that JAHF appeals to salvage the final remnants of our nearly forgotten culture in these areas.

JAHF, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation, as a 501(c)(3) in New York State. We are committed to establishing funds for philanthropic and religious causes, and are focused on restoring and erecting Jewish public buildings and holy sites. Many of its activities are planned in disadvantaged communities, serving to benefit members of all faiths and creeds and promoting inter-racial tolerance and understanding of local heritage. Our philosophy is defined by our desire to preserve Jewish identity through memories of the past, lest they disappear from history all together. while presently disadvantaged, Eastern Europe was home to a once thriving Jewish community, and was a social and religious sanctuary, before the tragedies of the holocaust.
